About Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam...
The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was founded in 1933 with the
following objectives:
- To help the Youth accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
- To help them develop proper physical, mental, social and spiritual
growth, Christian fellowship and proper training for
Christian service. - To help them gain and nurture loyalty to the
Church and co-operate to its activities and create an interest for
Evangelism and Witnessing.
There is a four-fold program of
Worship, Study,
Witness and Service
to achieve the above goals.
Lay Training Institute,
Intensive Training Institute, Parish Mission Programs, Mission
Tours, Leadership Training Camps, Young writers Conference, Work
Camps, Career Guidance, Social Actions, Study Conferences, Kalamela
(Talents exhibitions), Ecumenical Actions, Women's programs,
Pre-marital Counseling Course, Adoption of Villages, Development
Activities, Self Employment Programs are some of the activities
The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam publishes Yuvadeepam in Malayalam and
Ripples in English with articles of interest to youth and Bible
reading notes for devotion and study. The Youth Centre at Adoor,
Kerala, has facilities for conferences, seminars and retreats as
well as accommodation for 350 youths. The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam
functions at Parish, Regional, Diocesan and Centre levels.
